Ella Kenney

Sport and Physical Activity Assistant

Ella has over six years of coaching experience and holds GB Hockey Level 2 and Dodgeball England Level 2 coaching qualifications. She graduated from Loughborough University in 2025 with a BSc Degree in Sport and Exercise Science and completed a Diploma in Professional Studies, gaining practical experience as a sports coach in private education during her degree.

Ella’s coaching journey began at Chesterfield Hockey Club and schools in the surrounding area, where she developed her skills working with young players and introducing them to sport. Since then, she has coached a range of sports, age groups and abilities, focussing on skill development, teamwork and creating positive sporting experiences. She is committed to promoting participation and inclusion in sport.

In addition to coaching, Ella is an active hockey player and qualified umpire. She has also represented her county in athletics and hockey at junior levels. With over 10 years of experience in sporting environments as a participant, coach and umpire, Ella is excited to join the team and share her passion for participation, development and inclusion in school sport and physical activity.

We firmly believe in placing sport, physical activity and Physical Education at the heart of our schools and communities to provide more young people with the opportunity to develop their confidence, competence and motivation towards a lifelong relationship with a healthy, active lifestyle.  We work with educational, sports, physical activity and mental health specialists to create a network of support for our schools, community clubs and young people.
