KS2 Orienteering Competition (Compete)

Orienteering is an exciting, fun and fully inclusive sport which can be described as 'cunning running' or 'motor rallying on foot'.
The competition uses a Star Relay format, with teams repeatedly navigating short legs to individual controls from a central start/finish area. Teams consist of 4 pupils who run as individuals or in pairs.
Competition Categories
- Year 3/4 Boys (team of 3 or 4)
- Year 3/4 Girls (team of 3 or 4)
- Year 5/6 Boys (team of 3 or 4)
- Year 5/6 Girls (team of 3 or 4)
Relay Format
- The competition will run as a Star Relay
- Only one person or one pair from each team is on the course at any one time
- Each leg consists of navigating to one control only
- Teams repeatedly send out competitors or pairs until all allocated controls have been completed
- Each team will start on a different control number.
