This event is open to all affiliated schools in Derbyshire as part of our LEAD INCLUSION work with the Youth Sport Trust
Goalball UK are bringing their National Schools Programme to Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire in 2020. The programme offers schools an opportunity to receive 2-3 coached goalball sessions for a selection of their pupils to have a go at the sport. This will then culminate in a goalball competition which will be FREE (schools will have to arrange their own travel) to enter for all the schools actively engaged in the programme.
The targets for this project are as follows: Schools with visually impaired pupils in KS2, KS3 or KS4. Schools without visually impaired pupils may still express their interest, with sessions allocated depending the level of interest.
School sessions will take place throughout January and February 2020. The competition will take place on Tuesday 25th February 2020, at The University Of Nottingham's Sutton Bonnington Campus Sports Hall LE12 5RD. Timings of the competition will be confirmed once the number of schools interested is known, this will also determine the number of teams each school is allowed to enter.
Schools will be asked to contribute towards the travel costs of the coach coming to deliver their sessions, this will be confirmed with each school on an individual case by case basis.
