Event description

This event is open to all affiliated schools in Derbyshire as part of our LEAD INCLUSION work with the Youth Sport Trust.

The day is based around inclusive and adapted sports that your leaders can learn about, take part in, and lead back in school to engage those students with SEND or physical disabilities.

You are invited to bring up to 6 pupils (more if requested); 3 SEND/students with a physical disability and 3 mainstream pupils.

On the day there will be a Youth Sport Trust Athlete Mentor telling their story about their competitive sport and successes.

As well as inspiring stories, your leaders will be taking part in the following; (These are examples from last year to give you some idea but are subject to change)

•Seated volleyball

•Mini tennis

•Table cricket

•Boccia

To help your recruitment please select young people who:

Min age 13 years

• have the ability to plan and organise
• can communicate effectively
• can build relationships with others
• can reflect on their own performance
• wants to lead and volunteer in sport or wants to work with disabled young people in sport
• can be role models and advocates post the Camp.
