Y5 Primary Cross Country (Achieve)

Event description

*This is a Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire Schools event*

Event Description:

The distance for Y5 will be approximately 1200m.

Cross Country is a mass participation event targeted at all children, the event will be ran as separate races in which boys and girls run separately in their year groups (Y4 boys will run followed by Y4 girls ect).

Individuals will compete for top 3 finishing spots as well as the top 4 finishers from each school gaining points.Pupils run individually but the top four finishers from each school will count towards the team total.

Schools MUST enter teams with a minimum of 4 boys AND 4 girls. Schools may bring incomplete teams but these runners will not count towards the team score.

Declarations for this event will need to be made one week prior to the event using the provided resource. If changes need to be made this can be made at registration on the day of the event.

Who is this type of event aimed at?

Achieve events are aimed at young people who are confident in their own sporting ability and tend to be more competitive than other groups. They value the benefits of sport, care about sport and love being involved. These young people strive to improve and succeed at every activity or challenge they take on. They enjoy testing their competitive nature but whilst having fun. These events will create a healthy competitive environment to achieve personal or team based goals.
