Having worked as a teaching assistant in a Primary School in Sheffield and assisting on sports camps during school holidays, Ashante joins the team as a School Sports Officer. She has helped deliver a variety of activities including wheelchair sports within different settings and recently specialised in working with SEN children. Ashante’s passion for basketball led to her playing basketball at county and regional level before representing both England and Great Britain at junior level. She is now a level 2 basketball coach, level 1 table official and referee and coaches voluntarily for her basketball club in Mansfield as Head Coach for her U12 girl development team. This role gives Ashante a huge amount of satisfaction seeing many young girls grow and develop throughout each season, with some going on to represent at county level for U11s and joining the Basketball England talent pathway. Ashante brings a bucket-load of enthusiasm and motivation to her role as she is keen to ensure that all children and young people have a positive, enjoyable, and memorable experience of sport and physical activity.
