Camp Inspire is a Health & Wellbeing holiday camp for children/young people ages 4 to 18 years old focused on enhancing wellbeing and the development of soft skills through structured fun activities.
The programme is delivered under the Holiday Activity Food (HAF) programme commissioned by Derbyshire County Council through Street Games to co-ordinate the HAF scheme in Derbyshire from Summer 2022 onwards.
Aim of Holiday Activity and Food Programmes (HAF):
The HAF programme aims to ensure children/young people who attend this provision; eat healthy over the school holidays, be active during school holidays, and take part in engaging and enriching activities which support the development of resilience, character, and wellbeing, along with their wider educational attainment, be safe and not to be socially isolated, have a greater knowledge of health and nutrition, and to be more engaged in school and other local services.
Who is Camp for?
Camp Inspire is for anyone who would benefit from structured holiday activities in Derbyshire and the local area. Sessions are free for families who claim benefit related free school meals. Free places are also available to children/young people in vulnerable groups; including but not limited to, special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), young carers, and children in need/ child protection.
The families who do not meet the requirements stated above can still refer their child/ young person; however, for the cost of £20 per day they attend.
We also have the capacity to provide 1 to 1 support and care for participants who require this to attend. There is a limited amount of funding to support this, therefore in some cases, it may be required to pay £25 per hour to cover staffing costs. This is normally taken from direct payments.
