What We Achieved in Autumn Term 1

Wild Cats Girls Football Sessions

Please see the attached flyer for the Wild Cats Girls Football sessions at Brookfield Community School which take place every Sunday.  It's a great opportunity for girls who want to give football a go in a fun and friendly environment.  If you could send this out to your parents and put it on your school's noticeboard.

Resources

Youth voice toolkit

The Youth Sport Trust youth voice toolkit has had a refresh! The toolkit was co-designed with young people during the 2023-24 academic year and includes a number of resources to help you engage young people in discussions. A particular highlight is the inclusive focus groups tool which provides specific guidance for practitioners on how to engage young people with SEND. Check out the toolkit here.

We are excited to share the release of the free Inclusive Physical Education e-learning course as part of the Inclusion 2024 programme investment. This course has 10 bite-size modules that have been designed to increase teachers’, teaching assistants, sports practitioners and the wider school workforce in the knowledge and confidence to deliver inclusive PE and school sport. The content has been redeveloped with the support of Leeds Beckett University and Lead Inclusion Schools to ensure the information is informative and relevant to practitioners. Each section contains an introduction, key facts, space for self-reflection on current practice, tips on how to improve your practice and a handy additional resource page. A certificate is provided after each module, in addition to the completion of all ten modules.

Hurry! This course is free for this academic year only, using the discount code Inclusion2024. Sign up here

SEND Shooting Stars

Disney inspired Shooting Stars SEND is a programme that has been designed for schools to inspire young people with SEND to engage in their active minutes through football. The programme provides a suite of resource cards that include ready-made session plans which include fun, inclusive activities for pupils encouraging the development of their fundamental movement skills. The resource cards have been created in consultation with the Youth Sport Trust's Lead Inclusion Schools with the aim of specifically engaging more young people with SEND in physical activity and football.

The virtual training sessions below have been created to demonstrate how SEND Shooting Stars can be implemented within your school through bringing the resource to life. Once the training has been completed, the resources will be sent to you directly.
