During the Summer term 2020, SHAPE Learning Partnership, Active Derbyshire, Active Notts and the SGO networks pooled resources and expertise to support schools with a new virtual School Games offer which incorporated a minimum of 30 minutes physical activity each day. The group produced a weekly set of high-quality resources for 11 weeks, featuring a range of sporting activities themed around daily physical challenges and cultural competitions.
This animation looks back at how children and young people were supported to be active, and includes learning about collaborative working and insight into what helped to motivate young people and make them feel more comfortable and confident to take part in physical activity.
Also below is a booklet which showcases best practice examples of how schools and families utilised the School Games resources.
